Certified extract (made in 1793) of entry in Rolls of Kings Silver Office - relating to transfer of Property.
Ballingdon: Michaelmas Term, 1767 . 0. Certified extract examined with the entry at the Kings Silver Office, Court Temple (made in January 2nd, 1793), and signed W. Daw. - Relating to transfer of five messuages in Ballingdon, from Roger & Mary Wood, to Michael Wood & Roger Prickle. Small sheet of paper with some creasing and small tear to one edge. A search on the internet has provided details of another document: Handwritten English vellum indenture dated 1767 during the reign of King George III being the conveyance of property in Ballingdon in the County of Essex between Roger Wood, a Currier, and his wife Mary, both of Bury St Edmunds, and Roger Prickle, a Gentleman, and Michael Wood, Cabinet Maker. Nicely penned with fancy printed vignette, blonded revenue stamp with insert, tax stamp, and FOUR red wax seals on cloth tags.

MANORIAL DOCUMENTS - ESSEX - PEET HALL FINGRINGHOE & WEST MERSEY .
The Customary of Peet Hall Fingringhoe & West Mersey.
Fingringhoe: Mary Page, 27th December, 1813 . 0. "The aforesaid Customary hereafter following was entered into the Book according to a true and ancient Copy thereof belonging to Mrs. Mary Page of Fingringhoe 27 Day of December Anno Dni 1813." Four leaves of fool-scap (20" x 16") water marked 1810, and attached with cotton along the top edge. Hand written rules in a neat hand to one side of each leaf. Each leaf with small edge tears, one vertical fold and three horizontal folds, all strengthened (using archival standard repair tissue), with only the loss of a few words. The last leaf is missing a quarter of the manuscript.

Some Notes on the Elizabethan Communion Cups of Essex.
Essex: 1921. Reprint from the "Essex Review" Vol.XXX. pp.95-105. April 1921. Pp.112 black & white plates(one slightly scuffed), marginal toning to first page due to shadow of a handwritten signed letter from the author to "Benton"(probably Rev. Montagu Benton) which has been loosely enclosed. Green card covers with "with the writer's very kind regards" to top corner. G+. **Rev William James Pressey, came to Foxearth as Curate to the Rev John Foster and on who's death he was inducted as rector and remained there for 14 years. He was a brilliant pianist and a great musician, composing many hymns.During his closing years he devoted much time compiling valuable records of Essex Church plate.

Little Bromley, Essex: 1812. 0. Handwritten folio paper document dated 1812. 5 folded folio sheets with neat handwriting on one side only. 16.5" x 13.0". Water mark to paper dated 1810. Just a few small creases and light soiling to the title-page: "1812 - Abstract of the title to a Freehold Cottages and Premises at Little Bromley, Essex". The Abstract lists details of 6 earlier indentures: (i) 18th & 19th Nov 1713 Isaac Read, Beaumont Cum Moze, Essex, Yeoman to Nathaniel Bantuck, of Chatisham, Suffolk, Carpenter for cottage and land "..adjoining to Bromley Heath and abutting upon the road leading to Little Bromley.." ; (ii) 6th & 7th June 1729 Nathaniel Bantuck . and Susana his wife, and Benjamin Chippington Little Bromley, carpenter ; 5th June 1729 Benjamin Chippington and Nathaniel Sherman of Lawford, Essex ; 1st April 1745 Benjamin Chippington and Samuel Jackson of Lawford, Essex, Yeoman; 28th August 1795 Benjamin Chippington of the Parish of Little Bromley, Carpenter and Hannah his wife, and Benjamin Carrington of the Parish of Little Bromley "..cottage and Tenement and a Carpenters Shop (thus divided into two Tenements) and three roods of Land.. adjoining to Bromley Heath and abutting upon the road that leadeth to Little Bromley on the part of the south and upon a road leading to Great Bromley.." ; Trinity term 1799 Benj.
